Abhimanyu Front Cover

Abhimanyu is a fictionalized account of the life of a doctor, Dr. Subhash Mukhopadhyay who, instead of being applauded by the government for his pioneering research in IVF treatment, was insulted and eventually pushed towards suicide. Novelist Ramapada Chowdhury has deftly chosen the title Abhimanyu, alluding subtly to the juvenile warrior of the Mahabharat. Translator Dr Tania Chakravertty, an esteemed researcher, critic and author, has captured the spirit of this great novel perfectly in her translation.
